Domestic Violence Awareness Week

Nour and March are two very exciting words to have finally come together in one sentence for our Domestic Violence Awareness Week.
We have planned a range of events for the week commencing from the 14th of March. There is something different for everyone, to encourage participation and engagement because together, we can end the silence surrounding domestic violence.
Our line up of events includes:
Suliman Gani, on behalf of Nour, at the Islam Channel who will be answering your questions in a live Q&A session.
A live webinar with Ustahd Jalal Ibn Sa’eed discussing marital discourse and its solutions and resolutions in Islam, the non-violent way according to the Sunnah.
Khutbahs discussing domestic violence with teachings from the Qur’an and Sunnah by London masjids.
A sisters workshop for our beautiful sisters to come along with their children, and enjoy a relaxed Sunday over chit chat, Q&As, fun and food.
And the epitome of all events during Domestic Violence Awareness Week, the anticipated Nour Launch Dinner, where you will have the chance to enjoy fine dining alongside notable and inspiring individuals, and hear why they have come together to support Nour and help end domestic violence.

Finally, our talented writers and artists have sent in their works of creativity for the Silence Hides Violence Creativity Competition at Nour. Each piece was unique and beautiful to read, and we hope you will all continue to write and paint and be creative. It was a challenging and difficult decision, but the team at Nour have whittled the generous number of entries we have had to bring you our showcase of the best 5 entries which we thought were powerful and creative. You can read them all here, and make your own comments, likes and dislikes and tweets about them. The public opinion and reaction to all these 5 entries will heavily influence the winning creative piece and the two runner ups.
